Fiverr's Terms of Service and Community Standards exist to keep our marketplace safe, fair, and trustworthy for everyone. If a policy violation occurs, this article outlines the relevant types of violations, explains how they may affect your activity on Fiverr, and helps you understand the applicable policy and next steps.


Account restrictions

Integrity & authenticity

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by posing as another person or entity in a misleading manner.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, it is prohibited to include false or misleading information in your user profile, such as a fake name, photo, location, or other biographical details.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in off-platform activity.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, actions such as directing clients or freelancers to external platforms, suggesting alternative payment systems, offering external contracts, or sharing personal contact details for off-platform business are prohibited.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in messaging activity that was unwanted, repetitive, and/or disruptive to other members of our community.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, such actions undermine the integrity of our platform and can potentially harm our users.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in phishing attempts, distributing malware, and/or sharing other potentially harmful content through Fiverr communication tools.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, Fiverr prohibits any attempts to compromise user security through deceptive or harmful digital activity.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies regarding account integrity.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, users can only have one account on the platform, as multiple accounts can be misleading to other users and are considered a manipulation of our system.

  • Your account's activity is not in line with Fiverr's quality standards. Freelancers on Fiverr are expected to maintain a professional level of quality and expertise that aligns with the expectations of our community.

    Our review has determined that your account's recent activity or service offerings do not meet these standards. Fiverr aims to maintain a marketplace built on trust and professionalism.   • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies on feedback manipulation. This includes any attempt to improperly influence reviews, ratings, or feedback, or otherwise undermine the authenticity of Fiverr's review system.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by threatening to withhold payment or the delivery of services from another user.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, any threats or attempts to pressure another user for payment, services, or positive feedback are prohibited.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by abusing our reporting tools. These tools were designed to help maintain a trustworthy marketplace for our community.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, the misuse of these tools to submit false or misleading reports is strictly prohibited. This includes falsely categorizing reports, repeatedly submitting baseless reports to target users, and mass reporting to manipulate enforcement. Additionally, providing fabricated evidence, exploiting the system to harm competitors, or using multiple accounts and automation to evade this policy are all violations.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by attempting to manipulate a promotional program or campaign.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, Fiverr strictly prohibits any deceptive efforts to gain disproportionate benefits in the marketplace.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in inappropriate behavior towards members of the Fiverr Team.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, our community is built on principles of mutual respect, and we do not tolerate behavior that is abusive, rude, or inconsistent with our values, including towards members of our team.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by using a username, display name, or personal assistant name that does not comply with our trust and safety standards.

    All names must be appropriate and respectful. They cannot contain offensive language, hate speech, or explicit content. Additionally, names that impersonate others or Fiverr itself, infringe on intellectual property, or mislead users are strictly prohibited.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in suspicious financial transactions on the Fiverr platform.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, any activity related to money laundering, fraudulent transactions, or unauthorized financial actions is strictly prohibited.

  • In compliance with applicable laws and with our Terms of Service, Fiverr is not available to citizens from your country or region.
  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by offering or requesting adult services, which are prohibited on the Fiverr platform.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, Fiverr does not allow any content or services related to adult material, including explicit or sexually suggestive content.

  • Your profile was flagged for abusing the Briefs tool, which is in violation of our Community Standards and our Terms of Service. As a result, your Fiverr account was disabled. This decision was taken after careful consideration and cannot be reversed.

    Due to your account being disabled, you cannot log in or withdraw any funds you may have. If you have any funds available for withdrawal, in 90 days from now, you will receive an email with instructions explaining how to withdraw these funds. This email will be sent automatically and there is no need to contact Customer Support.

Illegal & prohibited services

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by offering or requesting a service that is not allowed on the platform.

    Fiverr maintains clear guidelines to ensure a safe, trustworthy, and professional marketplace. Any service that involves illegal activities, deception, unauthorized data collection, spam, or manipulation, as well as other actions that may compromise the integrity of the platform, is strictly prohibited.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by breaching the policies of a third party. A third party refers to a company or individual not directly affiliated with Fiverr, but who may be affected by the services you offer or request.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, any service offered that relies on another party's platforms, tools, or products must also comply with that company's Terms of Service and other applicable policies.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by requesting or offering a service that could intentionally or unintentionally harm our users, other individuals, property, or animals, or by engaging in other prohibited activity.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, Fiverr prohibits any activity that could pose risks to individuals, animals, or the broader community.

  • After a thorough review of your account, we have determined that your account activity is in violation of our Terms of Service. This decision was taken after careful consideration and cannot be reversed.

    Due to your account being disabled, you cannot log in or withdraw any funds you may have. Objectionable content & user safety

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in hate speech and/or discrimination against an individual or group based on race, skin color, ethnicity, sexual identity, gender identity, marital status, religion, age, and/or disability. This policy applies to all user-generated content, including Gigs, briefs, deliveries, portfolios, and any other content that depicts or promotes hate speech or discrimination.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, Fiverr strictly prohibits any hateful content or discriminatory behavior.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in inappropriate behavior.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, our community is built on principles of mutual respect, and we do not tolerate behavior that is abusive, rude, or inconsistent with our values.

Intellectual property

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by infringing the intellectual property (IP) rights of a third party. A third party refers to a company or individual not directly affiliated with Fiverr, but who may be affected by the services you offer or request.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, we require that all services offered be based on the freelancer's own IP or have the necessary licenses.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by using or delivering non-original material.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, we expect the Fiverr community to respect the hard work and creativity of others while adhering to ethical and lawful creative practices. Freelancers may only offer and deliver services based on their own original work or legally obtained licenses. Using third-party content without proper authorization is strictly prohibited.

  • We reviewed your deliveries and determined that they were not your original work. We consider copying or stealing other people's work a violation of our Community Standards and our Terms of Service. As a result, your Fiverr account was permanently disabled. This decision was taken after careful consideration and cannot be reversed.

    Due to your account being disabled, you cannot log in or withdraw any funds you may have. If you have any funds available for withdrawal, in 90 days from now, you will receive an email with instructions explaining how to withdraw these funds. Minors policy

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by being operated by a minor under the age of 13.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, users under 13 are strictly prohibited from using Fiverr under any circumstances.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by being operated by a minor without the required parental or guardian oversight.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, minors aged 13-18 may only use Fiverr through a parent or guardian-owned account that complies with our guidelines.

Special restrictions

  • Your account has been flagged due to strong indications of suspicious activity, such as unusual location patterns or other behaviors that suggest an attempt to manipulate the platform or evade Fiverr's policies. This may include activity linked to multiple accounts, accounts that have been associated with violations of our Terms of Service, the use of unauthorized methods, or other actions that compromise the security and integrity of our marketplace.

  • As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining trust and integrity on the platform, we regularly review freelancer accounts. Based on our review, we've determined that your account does not currently meet Fiverr's requirements to continue selling, in line with our Terms of Service.

    This sanction may have been applied due to one or more of the following reasons:

    • Offering prohibited services
    • Operating multiple accounts
    • Using methods to conceal identity or location
    • Engaging in activities previously linked to fraudulent behavior on Fiverr
    • Identity verification process failed: we were unable to verify the information you provided
    • Business verification process failed: we could not verify your business details as required

    Please note that you can continue communicating with clients to complete your active orders and withdraw cleared funds from completed orders. You are also welcome to continue using Fiverr as a client.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's policies by engaging in irregular account activity.

    As outlined in our Community Standards, all users must ensure their account activity remains consistent with Fiverr's security and integrity guidelines.

  • We've detected suspicious activity on your account that suggests it may have been accessed without your permission. To protect your security and prevent unauthorized use, your account has been temporarily suspended.

    We're working to resolve this as quickly as possible. For further assistance, please contact our Customer Support.

  • Our system indicated that you filed a dispute/chargeback claim with PayPal or your credit card company/bank. In accordance with our Terms of Service, we highly recommend that you close the dispute/chargeback and contact our Customer Support representatives to restore your account and resolve this issue through Fiverr.

  • Your account was flagged for multiple chargebacks and disputes with payment providers, which is in violation of our Terms of Service.

  • We were informed that you filed a dispute/chargeback with your payment provider for one of your orders. This is against our Terms of Service. We highly recommend that you close the dispute with the payment provider and contact Customer Support to resolve this issue within Fiverr.

    For more information, please review our Terms of Service. This is your first warning. If you repeat this violation or continue to violate Fiverr's Terms of Service, your account will be restricted.

  • Your account has been flagged for excessive cancellations.

    Our freelancer community works very hard to provide clients with the best possible service. Constantly canceling orders is not an acceptable practice within our marketplace and is not fair to our freelancers. We encourage our clients and freelancers to work together to find a mutually beneficial solution.

  • Your account has violated Fiverr's Terms of Service and Community Standards.

    Maintaining the integrity of our platform and ensuring the safety of our users are our top priorities.

  • Sorry, we weren't able to verify your identity. Therefore, your account has been restricted. You are still able to complete your active orders but cannot place or receive new ones. Please note, you can only communicate with your buyers with whom you have an active order.

  • Due to unsuccessful phone number verification attempts, your account has been temporarily suspended.

    Please contact our Customer Support Team so we can review your case and get back to you with further instructions.

  • We are constantly working on improving every aspect of our marketplace, and after reviewing your account, our Trust and Safety Team determined that it does not meet our Terms of Service and/or other standards stated in other Fiverr policies due to the account receiving multiple warnings.

Gig violations

Quality & content

  • Your Gig description, title, or packages were found to be unclear or misleading. To ensure success, make sure your Gig title and description are written clearly and are well-defined, accurately presenting your service. Ensure that all information in your description, packages, and settings is consistent and aligned with your services, and that any client requirements needed to start the work are clearly stated.

  • Misrepresenting your Fiverr status by using a freelancer badge or level on Fiverr that doesn't accurately reflect your current status is a violation of Fiverr's Community Standards. However, you may include them if they correctly reflect your current level.
  • Your Gig description, or parts of it, might be copied from another Fiverr freelancer. This behavior is against our Community Standards. Please ensure that you write your next Gig description using your own original content.
  • Fiverr is a global marketplace that connects clients and freelancers from all over the world. For this reason, all Gigs must be created in English. Remember that you may add another language within the Gig/Package descriptions in addition to the English description.

  • To maintain a professional and safe environment, we ask that all communication remains respectful and focused. Our goal is to foster a business-oriented platform where everyone feels welcome and secure, ensuring constructive and respectful interactions. When creating your next Gig, please do not use offensive language.

  • Your Gig image might be copied from another Fiverr freelancer. When creating Gigs in the future, please use an original image. Copying images from other freelancers is against Fiverr's Community Standards. If you continue to use a copied image, your Gig might be removed.

  • Your Gig's image contains content that could be considered adult, offensive, violent, or inappropriate. Fiverr aims to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all users, as the platform is open to a diverse range of people from different backgrounds and cultures.

  • The image you are using for your Gig was found to be not original. All images displayed or delivered must be your own work and meet the same standard and quality as the service you are offering to your clients. Using stock images, random photos from the internet, or images you copied or purchased from another freelancer may mislead clients and is against our Community Standards.

  • Unfortunately, your Gig image does not meet our guidelines. It may be broken, low-quality, unclear, or unrelated to your service, for example using clickbait or misleading visuals.

  • It is mandatory to include either a video or an audio sample for the specific category you have selected. If your Gig was placed in the Music & Audio category, we ask that you upload either a video or an audio sample to your Gig. If your Gig was placed in the Video & Animation category, we ask that you upload a video. It's important for clients to be able to see a sample of your work to assess your level of professionalism and to better understand what you offer. Your video and audio should be created with high production quality and be original.

  • It seems that your Gig was not updated according to our previous requests and comments.

Service related

  • Your Gig contains content that could be considered adult, offensive, violent, or inappropriate. Fiverr aims to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all users, as the platform is open to a diverse range of people from different backgrounds and cultures.

To this end, we might, from time to time, restructure our catalog and cease to offer certain services. Since you are providing one of the discontinued services, we are letting you know that your Gig has been removed.   • By selling lists of phone numbers, emails, addresses, and other personal information of third parties, you may be promoting spam and infringing third-party rights. A third party refers to a company or individual not directly affiliated with Fiverr, but who may be affected by the services you offer or request.

  • Your offer to remove a watermark from a third-party's copyrighted work does not comply with Fiverr's Community Standards. All services must uphold intellectual property rights and respect ownership, and as such, watermark removal services are not permitted.

  • Fiverr does not allow any services that offer to complete academic or workplace tasks, such as homework or job screening assignments, that are expected to be fulfilled without assistance from external sources. We expect our users to uphold academic and professional integrity, and Fiverr will not support any activities that dishonor the authenticity, honesty, and ethical standards of academic or workplace processes.

  • To maintain integrity and transparency within our community, Fiverr prohibits any services which are intended to mislead, manipulate, or deliver deceiving or inauthentic content.

    Offering any review, whether written, video, or otherwise, that does not reflect an honest and impartial opinion or a genuine experience with a product, service, or business is strictly prohibited on Fiverr.

  • To keep the marketplace safe for our users, we do not allow the inclusion of external payment methods and personal contact details in Gigs, such as email addresses, phone numbers, or alternative payment systems. We also prohibit the promotion of services, websites, or products outside of Fiverr, as all services must be offered and delivered exclusively through the platform.

    Fiverr provides all the necessary tools for secure communication and transactions, eliminating the need to use external contact or payment methods. Please ensure that your Gig follows these guidelines to maintain a safe and professional marketplace.
