Glossary of terms for clients

  • Agencies consist of a multi-skilled team of people who can offer a wider range of services and handle more complex and large-scale projects. This is a type of user account designed for teams rather than individual freelancers.

  • Custom offers are personalized orders freelancers send directly to clients to match specific needs not covered by standard Gig packages. To get started, message a freelancer and request a custom offer.

  • When a freelancer completes an order, the final work (whether it’s a spreadsheet, a logo, a video, etc.) is delivered to the client. The order may be broken down into separate deliverables, which may be included in one delivery or multiple deliveries. When the client approves the final delivery, the order is complete. 

    Make sure not to accept a delivery unless you are 100% happy with the work.

  • Extras are optional add-ons that freelancers can offer with their services. They might include faster delivery, commercial rights, or specific customizations. Clients can choose to add one or more of these extras when placing their order.

  • The Fiverr’s Choice badge is given to select services in recognition of outstanding quality and client satisfaction.

  • A freelancer on Fiverr is a registered user who offers services to clients.
  • Freelancers can reach different levels (Level 1, Level 2, and Top Rated) by meeting specific performance criteria linked to their work on the platform and their relationships with clients.

  • Some freelancers may offer milestones for their larger, more complex services. Each milestone represents a separate task in the freelancer’s workflow, with its own deadline, delivery, and payment.

  • Once a client places an order for a service, both the client and freelancer will be able to see order activity and progress on their respective order pages.

  • Clients can book a paid video consultation with a freelancer to discuss their project goals, ask a question, or to set expectations before starting a longer working relationship. These consultations can increase a client’s confidence in choosing the right freelancer and set the stage for a successful collaboration.

  • The AI-powered Personal Assistant is available to select freelancers, extending their availability and providing prompt responses to potential clients. Trained on multiple data points, the Personal Assistant can accurately represent the freelancer when answering questions, assisting with scheduling, and more.

  • Pro freelancers have been rigorously vetted by the Fiverr team for expertise in their field, high ratings, and the quality of their work. When you purchase from Fiverr Pro freelancers, you’re working with vetted, professional talent.

  • The new professions catalog allows freelancers to showcase their expertise and experience, making it easier for clients to find the perfect match for their needs. Freelancers who have added professions will appear in search results (when the search toggle is set to Freelancers).

  • The Resolution Center is a resource available to both clients and freelancers, to assist in resolving order issues. We recommend using the Resolution Center to work out any issues before contacting Customer Support.

  • Freelancers can offer a set number of revisions on each service they offer. This gives clients the ability to request changes to their order before approving a final delivery. Some services offer additional revisions as an extra.
    Note: Not all services include or offer revisions. Make sure to talk with your freelancer beforehand.

     

  • Each service offered by a freelancer has a scope, set deliverables, and fixed pricing. Freelancers can choose to create different packages for each service and/or offer optional extras. If an existing service matches a client’s needs, they can easily place an order with the click of a button. Services are displayed on various pages of the website and can be found through the search bar. (Just make sure the search toggle is switched to Services.)

    For more customized needs, freelancers can work with clients on a custom offer.

  • Ideal for repeat orders, subscriptions let clients work with their favorite freelancers on an ongoing basis.
    Note: Subscriptions are only available in certain subcategories and can only be offered by select freelancers.

  • If you’re planning to be out of town, are overbooked, or just need some time off, you can schedule the dates you’ll be unavailable directly from your profile. (On the mobile app, tap ‘Availability’ in the main menu.) While unavailable, your Gigs are hidden and you will not receive new orders. During this time, you can still message clients with active orders.

  • Often, clients have projects with specific needs that require personalized solutions. For these clients, you can create custom offers to meet these needs. Requests for custom offers are sometimes referred to as “getting a quote”.

     

  • As the central hub for freelancers, your dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of your activity, with quick access to your earnings, orders, freelancer level, and inbox.

  • Fiverr’s Freelancer Rewards Program is designed to reward certain high-performing Fiverr freelancers by granting a cash bonus based on annual earnings growth on Fiverr.

     

  • The freelancer level system offers transparent metrics showing exactly what drives your progress. As you advance to higher levels (Level 1, Level 2, and Top Rated), you'll access new benefits and tools. Each level has its own required criteria in the following performance metrics: Success score, rating, response rate, orders, unique buyers, and earnings. An additional evaluation is required to qualify for Top Rated.

     

  • The live portfolio feature lets you share client-approved samples of work you’ve completed on Fiverr. When ‘live portfolio’ is enabled on a Gig, these samples will be added to both the Gig gallery and your portfolio.

     

  • With Fiverr Ads, you can run ads on the Fiverr marketplace to increase the visibility of your services and professions.
    Ad placements include prime locations in search results, category pages, and the inbox. You control your daily budget and how much you’re willing to pay per click.

    Note: This program is only available to freelancers who are Level 1 or higher.

  • Trained on multiple data points, your Personal Assistant can handle pre-order chats and scheduling, helping potential clients make important ordering decisions. (Available to Level 2 and above freelancers, as well as Seller Plus Premium freelancers.)
     

  • Eligible freelancers can add up to 3 professions, showcasing their unique skills and experience and expanding their opportunities on the platform.

    Clients are able to browse the professions catalog in search results, with each listing leading to a detailed profession tab on the freelancer's profile, highlighting their expertise, order history, services, and the value they bring.

     

  • Freelancers can reach different levels (Level 1, Level 2, and Top Rated) by meeting specific performance criteria linked to their work on the platform and their relationships with clients.

     

  • Revisions can be added when creating a new service, allowing the client to provide feedback on deliveries, ensuring that they get exactly what they need.

  • Seller Plus is a paid membership program, developed to help freelancers grow their business on Fiverr. The program offers two tiers, Standard and Premium, each with benefits to support freelancer success on the platform.
    Note: The Seller Plus program is available by invitation only.

  • The success score looks at your order history in key areas related to the order process and your relationship with clients. This score is one of several elements contributing to your visibility in the marketplace, and is one of the 6 performance metrics that helps determine your eligibility for each freelancer level.
