Account and profile settings

Managing your Fiverr account and profile settings is essential for a smooth freelancing experience. Below are key areas you can update or manage:

About your account location

Your location is set when you register your account and is determined according to the country from where you register. The same applies to the phone or ID verification process. 

If the location on your account appears to be incorrect, please contact Customer Support.

Accounts that have phone verification 

    1. Log in to your Fiverr account and click your Profile picture, then Settings, and then Account.
    2. Input your new email address in the "Email" field and click Save.
    3. You will receive a confirmation email at your new email address. Click the link in that email to continue.
    4. After clicking the link in the confirmation email, you will receive an SMS phone code. Enter it into the verification box on your settings page.

Accounts that don't have phone verification

    1. Log in to your Fiverr account and click your profile picture, then 'Settings', and then the 'Account section.'
    2. Input your new email address in the "Email" field and click "Save."
    3. You'll receive a confirmation email at your old email address. Click the link to confirm the change and log in to Fiverr with your old email address and password.
    4. Once logged in, go to your new email address account, where you will receive a second confirmation email. Click the link to confirm, and your email will be changed.


  • Note: If you don't have access to your registered phone, please follow the instructions explained below.

    1. Log in to your Fiverr account and click your profile picture, then 'Settings', and then the 'Account section.'
    2. Input your new email address in the "Email" field and click "Save."
    3. Go to your old email address's account and confirm the email change.
    4. You will be redirected to your account to verify by SMS or Call.
    5. Get an SMS or Call from Fiverr with the code, then enter the verification code in the pop-up window and submit the code.

Recovering access to your account

Access to Fiverr account, but not the registered email account

If you no longer have access to your registered email address's account, you can try to add phone verification to your Fiverr account.
This will allow you to change your email address by confirming the change through an SMS code instead of an email to your old address.

    1. Click your profile picture, then choose 'Settings.'
    2. Go to 'Security' and click the "Verify now" button.
    3. Follow the steps to verify your account via an SMS code sent to your phone.
    4. Once the process is complete, follow the instructions explained above to change the email address on phone-verified accounts.
    Note: There are three attempts to verify: two via SMS and one via phone call. However, you can only attempt to verify one number every 24 hours.

No access to your Fiverr account, the email registered to your account, or your registered phone

Managing your username and display name

Note: Freelancers have the option to change their display name. Learn more with Managing your display name.

Your username is your unique identity on Fiverr and it cannot be changed. In order to use another username, you need to close your account and create a new one.
 
Want to display a different name on your account?

Your display name is your name or a representative name that will be displayed to customers and your interactions with them—like on your Gig page, inbox messages, your freelancer profile, and more.

    1. Log in, then switch to Selling.
    2. Click your profile picture, then 'Profile'. Next, click the pencil icon next to your display name.
    3. Edit your display name, then click "Save changes."

The username that you initially picked when you first created your account will remain your username for logging in.

If you would like to use the email address in your current account for your new account, please change the email address before closing it.
    1. If you have funds in your account, please contact Customer Support before you close it.
    2. Click your profile picture, then 'My Settings', then 'Account deactivation.'
    3. Choose a reason from the dropdown menu and click "Deactivate account."

Managing your online status

Your online status indicates your availability to clients.

    1. Go to your profile picture and select "Settings".

    2. Click on the "Account" tab.

    3. Under "Online status", choose the duration you wish to appear offline (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, or Forever).

    4. Click "Save Changes" to apply your new status.

    To go back online, select "Go Online" from the same drop-down menu.
