To support that goal, certain services may not be offered, requested, delivered, or otherwise facilitated through the platform if they could cause harm, violate applicable laws or third-party rights, or undermine the trust and safety of our marketplace.
This article provides a detailed overview of the types of services that are prohibited on Fiverr. Attempts to offer, request, or deliver prohibited services, including by disguising them under misleading titles, descriptions, or categories, may result in action on your account.
The categories below are intended to provide a general overview of the kinds of services that may be considered prohibited, rather than a complete list of every possible case. Please note that prohibited services may change over time, and this article is therefore not exhaustive.
Why certain services are prohibited
Some services are prohibited because they create risks that are incompatible with a trusted digital marketplace. In general, Fiverr does not allow services that:
- Put users or third parties at risk
- Facilitate illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive conduct
- Undermine integrity, authenticity, or fair competition
- Misuse personal data, identities, or technologies
- Violate intellectual property rights or other legal rights
These restrictions help Fiverr remain a platform users can trust.
Prohibited services
Violence, dangerous goods, & harmful conduct
Services that promote or facilitate violence, the trade of dangerous goods, or actions intended to cause serious harm to people, property, or systems are not allowed. This includes services involving any of the following:
- Weapon development, trafficking, or related facilitation
- Promoting prohibited or potentially dangerous goods, or encouraging others to make, use, or trade them, including firearms, ammunition, drugs, and controlled substances
- The promotion, coordination, or delivery of violent, extremist, or terror-related content or services
- Hate speech, hate-related services, or content that targets individuals or groups based on protected characteristics
- Services intended to cause damage, disruption, or harm to people, property, or systems
- Content related to the glorification of violence, incitement to violence, or other harmful behavior toward an individual, group, or animals
Services involving harm, abuse, or exploitation
To protect the Fiverr community, Fiverr does not allow services that harm, exploit, endanger, or create serious risks to individuals, groups, property, animals, or the broader public. This includes:
- Any form of abuse, human exploitation, sexual exploitation, or human trafficking
- Services involving minors that may create safety, consent, exploitation, or legal concerns, including:
- Modeling services involving minors
- Exploiting or misusing a minor's identity, image, likeness, age, or perceived age
- Creating sexualized, exploitative, or otherwise inappropriate content involving minors, whether real or depicted through artistic, digital, or AI-generated content

Medical, therapy, & psychological services
Fiverr does not allow services that provide medical treatment or advice, sell or supply pharmaceutical products, or offer similar health-related services. This applies to both physical and mental health-related services.
Prohibited services in this category include:
- Medical treatment or advice relating to a medical condition
- Pharmaceutical advice
- Supply of medical drugs, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, or pharmaceutical supplies
- Creating or providing documentation or other evidence intended to fraudulently misrepresent a person's medical status, such as falsified test results
- Services claiming to heal, prevent, or treat cancer, diabetes, eating disorders, depression, COVID-19, or any other disease or medical condition, including emotional therapy
Forged, altered, or fraudulent document services
Fiverr does not allow services that create, modify, sell, or provide forged, altered, counterfeit, or otherwise fraudulent documents. This includes documents that may be used to misrepresent a person's identity, eligibility, qualifications, financial status, legal status, or other official information.
Prohibited services in this category include:
- Creating or modifying government-issued documents, such as IDs, passports, visas, or driver's licenses
- Creating or altering official records, such as birth certificates, death certificates, or marriage certificates
- Creating or modifying financial documents, such as bank statements, pay slips, tax forms, or proof of income
- Creating or altering educational, professional, or licensing documents, such as diplomas, transcripts, certificates, or licenses
Unlicensed professional services
Some services require professional qualifications, licenses, certifications, or legal authorization. Fiverr does not allow users to offer professional services without the credentials required to provide them lawfully or responsibly. This helps protect users from legal, financial, health, and other personal risks that may result from unqualified professional advice, services, or representation.
Prohibited services in this category include:
- Providing legal services without the required authorization
- Providing tax, accounting, investment, insurance, or financial advice where professional credentials are required
- Providing engineering or architectural services where professional licensing, certification, or authorization is required
- Offering regulated professional services while falsely claiming or implying licensing, certification, or official professional status
Where a service requires professional credentials, sellers must accurately represent their qualifications and may not provide services they are not authorized to offer.
Hacking, unauthorized access, & malicious software services
Fiverr does not allow services that attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, profiles, devices, networks, websites, platforms, or other systems. Services that damage, disrupt, bypass protections, compromise security, or expose sensitive personal, financial, business, or governmental information are prohibited.
Prohibited services in this category include:
- Hacking, cracking, or attempting to access accounts, profiles, devices, websites, networks, or other systems without authorization
- Bypassing passwords, two-factor authentication, access controls, paywalls, or other security protections
- Phishing, credential theft, account takeover, social engineering, malware, spyware, ransomware, or similar malicious activity
- Creating, contributing to, or facilitating information security risks that may disrupt, disable, interfere with, or harm individuals, businesses, online services, platforms, systems, or governmental institutions, including DDoS attacks, doxxing, impersonation, malware distribution, phishing, and other hacking techniques
Deepfakes & non-consensual manipulated content services
AI can be a powerful tool, but it must be used responsibly. Fiverr does not allow AI-generated services that deceive, impersonate, violate consent, or otherwise cause harm. Services that use AI in ways that mislead users, exploit identifiable individuals, or conceal deception are prohibited.
This includes services involving:
- Using AI to impersonate real individuals or falsely represent identity, affiliation, or endorsement
- Creating synthetic audio, images, or video of identifiable individuals without appropriate authorization, especially where the content may mislead, exploit, or harm
- Generating deepfakes or other manipulated media intended to deceive, harass, defame, or misrepresent real people or events
- Using AI in ways that conceal deception or mislead others about what is real, authentic, or independently created
Services involving personal data or privacy violations
Fiverr does not allow services that involve the unauthorized collection, sharing, sale, or misuse of personal information. Services that expose individuals to privacy violations, spam, identity misuse, or other forms of harm through the use of personal data are prohibited.
This includes services involving:
- Sharing personal data of individuals, such as email addresses, phone numbers, or similar contact details
- Premade lists containing personal data of individuals
- Scraping social media platforms to obtain information about others
- Sharing confidential personal information, such as social security numbers, identification cards, credit card details, or physical addresses
- Using personal data to support identity misuse, impersonation, phishing, scams, spam, or other deceptive outreach
To help protect privacy rights, any information provided through permitted services must be unique to each order and limited to business-related data only.
Services involving financial risks
Fiverr takes the financial safety of users seriously and does not allow services that may expose users to fraud, misuse of financial information, or unsafe financial activity. Services that require access to another person's sensitive financial information, or that involve high-risk financial conduct, are prohibited.
This includes services involving:
- Opening, managing, or making changes to a financial account of any kind
- Providing a loan, buying or selling currency or cryptocurrency, trading binary options, or trading other financial instruments
- Mining cryptocurrency
- Removing negative remarks from a credit score or credit history, or other credit repair-related services
- Creation of trading signals, indicators, or pre-made trading strategies
Misleading guarantees & unverifiable outcome services
Fiverr does not allow services that promise specific results or outcomes that are not within a seller's control. This includes exaggerated or misleading claims about what buyers may achieve through a service.
This includes guarantees or promises related to:
- Restoring access to suspended accounts on third-party platforms, such as Amazon, Facebook, or eBay
- Specific monetary earnings, investment returns, or profit rates
- Wins, levels, in-game currency, or profits in any game or app
- Healing, treating, or curing any medical condition
Freelancers may present their services using promotional or persuasive marketing language, but this must not cross into guaranteeing specific, measurable results or outcomes that are not reasonably within their control.
Services that may violate third-party terms of service
Fiverr requires users to respect the terms of service of any third-party platform, tool, or service involved in delivering or requesting a service on Fiverr. Services that violate, or create a significant risk of violating, a third party's terms of service are prohibited.
This includes services that involve:
- Automating actions on platforms that explicitly prohibit automation
- Bypassing restrictions, paywalls, or account limitations imposed by third-party platforms
- Reselling or redistributing third-party services or content in ways not permitted by the provider
- Creating tools or workarounds designed to circumvent another platform's rules
Before offering or requesting a service, users should review the terms of any third party involved. Fiverr reserves the right to take action where a service exposes users to legal, contractual, or platform-related risks, including in response to third-party reports when the conduct also conflicts with Fiverr's policies, values, or marketplace standards.
Fake engagement, reviews, & traffic services
Fiverr does not allow services that create fake reviews or use deceptive methods to generate artificial engagement, traffic, or performance signals on third-party platforms. These services distort trust, mislead users and third parties, and undermine fair competition on those platforms.
This includes:
- Fake reviews of any kind, positive, negative, or neutral, written or video-based, that do not reflect a genuine experience of a product, service, or business
- Artificial followers, likes, views, shares, or other engagement signals generated through bots, click farms, or similar techniques
- Inflated website traffic, app downloads, or other performance metrics through illegitimate means
- Tools or services that enable others to generate fake engagement at scale
Academic & job-related dishonesty services
Fiverr strictly prohibits services that support academic cheating or dishonest job-related conduct. Fiverr does not allow services that complete work on behalf of a person in situations where independent effort, truthful representation, or compliance with institutional or workplace rules is expected.
This includes services that involve:
- Undertaking homework
- Completing exams or tests
- Completing job application assignments
- Completing any other assignment expected to be completed without outside assistance
Users are expected to follow the honor code, internal rules, and applicable conduct policies of their academic institution or workplace when requesting academic or employment-related services. Fiverr is committed to protecting authenticity, honesty, and integrity in academic and professional contexts.

Services outside the Fiverr catalog
Fiverr's catalog evolves in response to changes in the digital environment and user demand. From time to time, Fiverr may restructure the catalog and discontinue certain service types. Where a service is no longer supported in the catalog, Fiverr may remove the relevant Gig.

How to stay compliant
To help make sure your services comply with Fiverr's policies:
- Offer only legitimate services and do not rely on deception, abuse, or unauthorized activity
- Do not attempt to relist prohibited services under different names, categories, wording, or bundled offerings in order to avoid detection
- Review Fiverr's Terms of Service, Community Standards, and related Help Center resources before publishing, ordering, or accepting a service
