On Fiverr, the service you offer is called a Gig. Your Gig showcases your talent to potential clients and gives them the information they need before they place an order. A clear, complete Gig helps clients understand exactly what you deliver, so they can choose you with confidence and start orders with fewer questions. This article explains how many Gigs you can create, what belongs in each part of your Gig, and the media rules you need to follow.
Before you begin
You create and manage Gigs from your freelancer account, and the number of Gigs you can have depends on your level. Check the following before you build a Gig:
- Required: a Gig description in English. You can add other languages as long as all the information also appears in English.
- Required: an audio or video sample if your Gig is in the Music & Audio category. You cannot publish the Gig without one.
- Required: permission to use every image, video, and audio file you upload.
- Optional: a video, a PDF, and physical shipping, depending on the service you offer.
For more tips, see Creating a Gig and Guidelines for selecting Gig images.
How many Gigs you can create
When you become a freelancer on Fiverr, we recommend creating only one Gig at first and focusing your time and effort on that service. After your first Gig earns positive client feedback and multiple sales, consider creating more. We count every Gig status toward your limit except deleted Gigs and automation Gigs, such as Logo Maker and Consultation Gigs.
| Level | Gigs allowed |
|---|---|
| New | 4 |
| Level 1 | 10 |
| Level 2 | 10 |
| Top Rated | 30 |
Gig title guidelines
- We help you start your title with I will… Complete the sentence with the service you want to provide.
- Keep your Gig title short, clear, and to the point. Clients should recognize what you offer immediately.
Category & subcategory guidelines
- Select the most appropriate category and subcategory for the service you offer.
- If you are not sure, search for similar services on Fiverr to see how other freelancers categorize theirs.
- We also recommend a category and subcategory based on your Gig title.
We reserve the right to move your Gig to a more relevant category or subcategory when needed.
Gig description guidelines
Your Gig description is your first chance to introduce yourself to potential clients. Be personable and approachable, and describe your service in plain terms so clients can decide to place an order.
Follow these guidelines:
- Be clear about the purpose of your Gig and the specific service you provide.
- When relevant, explain the methods you use to perform your service.
- Highlight the value of your service.
- Proofread your description before you publish it, and check for grammatical errors and typos.
- Do not share your email address, phone number, or third-party messaging apps for the sole purpose of doing business off Fiverr.
- If your service requires contact details or login credentials for an external site, mention this in the Gig requirements section.
- You can share a link to your website or portfolio to showcase your experience and skills.
- Keep your Gig aligned with Fiverr's Community Standards.
If you share your personal contact information or lead clients to do business off Fiverr, we may remove your Gig from the marketplace. We may also permanently suspend accounts that violate this rule repeatedly.
Media guidelines
These guidelines apply to all images, videos, audio files, and other content you use, including reviews you upload with files.
- Make sure you have the right to use your images for commercial purposes. For example, a stock image where the owner granted you permission.
- If you use copyrighted images, we may remove your Gig.
- You can add files up to 5 GB.
- Never include personal contact information in your media.
- In all Design categories, your images must be original.
- In all other categories, make sure you have permission to upload the image.
- Follow our Guidelines for selecting Gig images.
- Use images that are clear, high resolution, and sized correctly. Avoid pixelated images.
- You can upload up to three images that describe or relate to your Gig service.
- You can add a watermark to both your delivery preview and your completed orders inside your Gig portfolio.
A video showcases your skills and services, and it can also introduce you and your work to clients.
- Keep your video to 75 seconds or less.
- Use an accepted video format: mp4 or AVI.
- After you add a video, we create a thumbnail and show it in the marketplace. Select the thumbnail from the video you want to upload.
Never include personal contact information in your videos. If you use a sample from your portfolio, it can include a previous client's information only when that client gave you explicit permission.
In the Music & Audio category, you need to upload an audio or video sample before you can publish your Gig.
- Use a supported audio format: mp3 or MPEG.
- Keep your audio file to three minutes and 30 seconds or less.
- Keep the audio file size below 10 MB.
You can use PDFs to present reports, data, marketing strategies, website and mobile app designs, case studies, and visual work such as logos and illustrations.
- Uploading a PDF is optional.
- You can upload up to two PDF files to your Gig.
How to add a PDF to your Gig
- Go to the Gig PDF area.
- Drag a PDF into the area, or click Browse and select the PDF you want to upload.
For more details, see Adding PDFs to your Gig.
Shipping physical deliverables
Some services on Fiverr are delivered physically, such as arts and crafts and collectible items.
- If your service includes physical shipping, select the shipping option in your Gig.
- If you do not offer a physical product, do not select the shipping option, and do not request a shipping fee from your clients.
For the full rules, see "Shipping Physical Deliverables" in our Terms of Service.
Best practices
- Start with one Gig and add more only after it earns positive feedback and multiple sales.
- Write a title a client can understand at a glance.
- Proofread your description before you publish, so typos do not undercut your offer.
- Use original images in Design categories, and confirm your rights to any image you use in other categories.
- Keep all contact details out of your Gig text, images, and videos.
- Add a video and a PDF when they help clients see the quality of your work.
