Whether you're a freelancer or a client, Fiverr’s inbox and notification features help you stay on top of your communications and activity. Fiverr provides two essential tools for this: the inbox, your central hub for direct conversations, and notifications, your real-time feed for order progress and account activity.
Using your inbox
Your inbox is where you send, receive, and view all of your messages with clients/freelancers.
In your Fiverr’s inbox, freelancers and clients can manage their conversations across various Fiverr experiences in one place, including order-related messages, inquiries, custom offers, and updates.
All messages within orders that were created before October 21st 2025 can be found in the order chat. For new orders placed after October 21st, the messages can be found in your inbox.
What is new?
If a message is attached to an order, it will have an icon users can hover over to see the corresponding order number. Users can also click the order number to go to the order page.
We know that managing global communication can be challenging for both freelancers and clients. We've introduced a new feature that eliminates language barriers and delays. When you receive a message in any language, there is an option to translate the message into English right from your inbox.
Freelancers and clients can access and respond to conversations directly from the orders page.
Within a conversation, you can see the client's online status and local time. You can also view more information regarding the client—such as average response time, spoken languages, order history with the client, and if they are a Top Buyer on Fiverr.
Note: Fiverr’s Collaboration tool has been discontinued as we continue to improve how freelancers and clients connect and collaborate through the Inbox.
- 1. Click the envelope/message icon at the top of the page.
2. To view all your messages, click "See All in Inbox." - 1. You can view your messages on the left side of the page.
2. To view all your messages, click "View All."

Mismatch
When a client is communicating with a freelancer in the inbox, prior to placing an order, the system may detect a mismatch between client needs and what the freelancer is providing. The system will find a potential match on budget, availability, and time requirements that will be shared with the client.

Messaging limits for a safer experience
-
To ensure a secure and positive experience on Fiverr, we’ve set limits on message activity to minimize excessive or unwanted communication. This helps reduce spam and ensures a safe and positive environment for everyone. If you reach your messaging limit, you’ll receive a notification and you will need to wait 60 minutes before sending messages to users who are not already in your contact list. During this period, you can still message existing contacts, and other users can initiate conversations with you.
If you continue to exceed the messaging limit, you will receive a warning notification informing you that further violations may result in an account suspension. Continued violations will lead to a permanent suspension of your account for spamming. After three months from your last messaging limit notification, your account will be reset as if no warnings were ever issued. Repeated violations of these limits compromise platform safety, and we encourage you to adhere to these guidelines to maintain a positive experience for all users.
Using notifications
In your notifications, you'll be updated about information from your Fiverr account. Some notifications include direct links to a number of various actions required.

- Click the bell icon.
- In the Notifications area, you can view orders created, information submitted, updated orders, orders completed, revision requests, order reviews, and more.
Note: To view more notifications, scroll downwards. - To edit your email, mobile, and real-time notifications settings, click the 'Settings icon' at the bottom of the Notifications area.

- An icon indicates the status of the order.
- If you missed a few updates relating to the same order, a number will be presented to show you how many require attention.
Using notifications and inbox on the mobile app
Similar to the steps mentioned above on the web or desktop, you'll find the same filtering and action options on the mobile app by tapping the filter icon at the top right of your main inbox screen or by tapping the ellipsis (...) in the upper right corner within an individual conversation.
To perform actions in your inbox:
- From the main menu, click on the 'envelope' icon for your 'Inbox'.
- To view a specific conversation, click on it from the list of conversations in your inbox.
Note: Once you click on a message from a user, you can see the user's status at the top of the screen (i.e., online or away).
Mobile notifications for Android
-
If you're noticing delayed notifications from the Fiverr mobile app, it's often due to your device's battery optimization settings. Many phones are set to restrict background activity for third-party apps, which can unfortunately block timely updates.
To ensure you never miss an update, we recommend checking your mobile's battery usage settings. You can usually adjust these settings to allow the Fiverr app to run without restrictions, helping you receive notifications as soon as they arrive.
Note: These steps are applicable to most Android phones.
- Navigate to 'Settings', then 'Apps.'
- Click on the search bar, and enter "Battery optimization" or just "Battery."
- Click on "Optimize battery usage/ Battery optimization" from the list.
- Select the option to view all apps.
- Locate Fiverr’s mobile app and disable the battery optimization.
Receive every notification, and make the most of every opportunity!
