Video calls (Zoom calls)

Video calls on Fiverr let you connect face-to-face with a client or freelancer before or after an order is placed. Fiverr hosts all calls through Zoom and covers the associated costs. Use Zoom calls to align on project details, set clear expectations, and build a stronger working relationship.

Before you begin

  1. Only freelancers can initiate Zoom video calls. Clients can request a Zoom video call from an eligible freelancer's profile page.
  2. Fiverr hosts all calls through Zoom. You do not need your own Zoom account.
  3. All calls are automatically recorded and saved for 30 days, so both parties can review them.

Eligibility for freelancers

Freelancers can initiate calls from two places: an order page or an inbox conversation. Each location has different requirements.

  • Available to all freelancers.

How to access: Open the inbox with the user by clicking Message [username] under the user's name.

  • To initiate a call from the inbox, you must have at least one order (any status) in the last 60 days, and meet at least one of the following requirements:

    • Be an Agency.
    • Be in a conversation with a Fiverr Pro customer.
    • Be a Level 1 freelancer with an Average Selling Price (ASP) of $50 or above.

The ASP on your Earnings page includes tips and extras, but the ASP used to determine Zoom eligibility does not. Therefore, you can't use the ASP from the Earnings page to check if you're eligible.

Agencies: scheduling a future meeting

In addition to starting an immediate call, Agencies can invite a client to schedule a meeting at a future time based on the Agency's availability.

Using Zoom calls

Call time limits

The maximum length of a call depends on whether an order has been placed:

  • Before an order is placed: up to 30 minutes.
  • After an order is placed: up to one hour.

Recordings & transcripts

Every call is automatically recorded by Fiverr. After the call ends:

  • Both the freelancer and client can view the recording and transcript by clicking Watch Recording.
  • A dedicated Zoom page will open where both parties can download the recording and transcript files.

Joining with multiple participants

If your client is a Fiverr Pro user, multiple team members can join the call. The call link is only available during the session and cannot be shared in advance.

Reporting a call

After any call, both the freelancer and the client can report the meeting to Fiverr using the Report the incident option, or directly to Customer Support if the client/freelancer acted unprofessionally regarding the order (e.g., by asking for personal or payment details).

  1. In your inbox, go to the meeting card and click Report the incident.
  2. In the Report a video meetup window, select the reason for your report:
    • They asked to pay/communicate outside of Fiverr.
    • They behaved/spoke inappropriately.
    • Other.
  3. In the Incident occurred at field, enter the timestamp when the incident took place.
  4. Click Report.
  5. Click Got it to close the confirmation window.

Your report will not be shared with the other person. Fiverr's Trust & Safety team will review your report.

Video call policies

Zoom video calls are designed to provide the best possible ordering experience and ensure freelancers are aligned with their clients' needs. Freelancers and clients are expected to act professionally at all times and to adhere to our Community Standards.

By joining a Fiverr Zoom video call, you agree to abstain from using:

  • Inappropriate language.
  • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, accent, dialect, or national origin, etc.
  • Hate speech or harassment.
  • Adult content, nudity, or sexual activity, including sexual attention of any kind.
  • Threats of violence.
  • Prohibited Services on Fiverr, both offering and asking for said services.
  • Any attempts to move business off of Fiverr.

We recommend that the summary of the order's requirements discussed on the call be written down in the order to avoid any misunderstandings that may arise.

Best practices for freelancers

  1. Before creating a meeting, contact your client to confirm they are available and to account for any time zone differences.
  2. After the call, send your client a written summary of the main points and any agreements you reached. This helps prevent misunderstandings.

What to avoid

  • Don't share any sensitive personal information. This includes passwords, credit card information, SSN, national identification card numbers, or any other private information.
  • Don't click on any links or attachments you may receive unless the context is absolutely clear. We recommend that you always use an antivirus on your own device as extra security.
  • Avoid remote access tools. Refrain from using tools such as TeamViewer and AnyDesk that allow a second party to potentially take control of your computer. If you do need to use such a tool, make sure not to allow any operations, as these may damage your computer if accessed by another party.
  • Don't engage in any conversation that makes you feel uncomfortable. Remember, you can report your Zoom video call by clicking Report the incident or by contacting Customer Support.
