Freelancer referral program

In the fast-paced world of freelancing, developing and maintaining strong client relationships is essential. In addition, having a network of peers that can contribute to the trust your clients have in you as well as having your back when you need is a big part of being a freelancer.

The freelancer referral program addresses this relationship-building by allowing you to refer trusted freelancers who can help a client meet their goals if you don’t offer certain services, are unavailable to take on a project, or know just the right person to take on the next step for your client.

Recommending other freelancers to clients demonstrates your commitment to their long-term success, building trust and strengthening your reputation as a reliable resource. It also helps to grow your network and boosts your chances of being referred in return.

Note: The program is currently opened to Level 1, Level 2, Top Rated and Pro freelancers.

How it works

Referring a freelancer

In any inbox conversation, click on the 'Refer a freelancer' icon to open the referral tool.

You can refer someone you know, someone you’ve discovered by searching on Fiverr, or a suggestion from Fiverr. You can add up to 3 referrals each time you use the referral tool.

For each referral:

    1. Add the freelancer’s username (without the @) or the URL to their freelancer profile or specific Gig that is relevant to the client.

      • If you’re not sure who to refer, click on 'Get suggestions' or 'Search on Fiverr.'

      • Get suggestions will open a new drawer with 3 tabs: Offers related services, Similar freelancers, and Previous referrals.

    2. After adding their username or a URL, you’ll see a portion of their profile, along with a text field to explain why they’re a good fit for the client's needs.

To add another referral, click + Add another referral and follow steps 1 and 2. (You can send up to 3 referrals to a client at a time.)
    3. After you’ve added your referral(s) you will need to include an intro message to summarize your recommendations and guide your client on how to proceed. (This will appear above your referrals in the message to your client.)

Referral program benefits

In addition to the profile badge, you can also earn Fiverr credits when freelancers you’ve referred to clients complete orders for them.

The amount of Fiverr Credits earned is calculated as 2.5% of the total order gross amount, including late extras, but excluding tips

Example: If you (freelancer A) refer another freelancer (freelancer B) to a client, and freelancer B completes an $150 order for that client, you’ll receive $3.75 (2.5% of $150) in Fiverr Credits.

    • The order must be completed within 60 days of the referral.

    • You can only earn Fiverr Credits on the first completed order between your referred freelancer and the client you referred them to.

    • Fiverr Credits are valid for 90 days and can be used on Fiverr orders and freelancer programs.

      • Credits are applied first, and then your selected payment method is used, if necessary. For example, if you have $10 in Fiverr Credits and the amount due is $39, your selected payment method will be charged $29.
