Reporting content or behavior on Fiverr

We value every member of our community and aim to create a respectful, inclusive, and safe space for all. If you encounter any problematic content that violates Fiverr’s Community Standards, we encourage you to report it so we can keep the platform secure.

Overview

This feature allows you to flag specific content that doesn't belong on Fiverr. You can report messages, Gigs, video calls, or briefs that may violate our policies.

  • What the feature does: Sends specific content to our Trust & Safety team for manual review.
  • Why it's useful: Helps maintain a professional environment and protects users from scams, harassment, or inappropriate content.
  • Who it’s for: All Fiverr users, including freelancers and clients.

Important: Reporting tools are for policy violations only. They cannot be used for order disputes or dissatisfaction with services. For help with orders, please contact Customer Support.

Before you begin

  • You must be logged into your Fiverr account to submit a report.
  • You can report Gigs, messages, Zoom calls and briefs, but you cannot report a user's entire profile at once.
  • Reporting is available on both desktop and the Fiverr mobile app.
  • Misuse of reporting tools, such as submitting false reports, can lead to account sanctions.

    1. Open the message you wish to flag.
    2. Click the ellipsis (...) icon and select Report.
    3. Select a reason from the dropdown and click Next. If your specific concern isn't listed in the dropdown, choose Other and provide details in the text box.
    4. Optional: Check the box to Block this user if you want to prevent further interaction.
    5. Click Submit.

After submitting, a red flag indicates the message is reported. If you blocked the user, a notification will confirm they can no longer contact you.

What happens after you submit a report?

When you submit a report, Fiverr’s Trust & Safety team manually reviews it against our policies.

  • If a violation is found: We will take appropriate action, which may include removing content or issuing account sanctions to the user.
  • If no violation is found: No action will be taken.

How to appeal a decision

Whether you submitted a report or your account was the one reported, you have the right to appeal our decision within 6 months.

To submit an appeal

  1. Contact Customer Support using your account's registered email.
  2. Provide the Report ID (found in your email confirmation) or the Support Ticket number where you originally submitted the report.
  3. Explain why you believe the decision should be overturned.

We do not accept evidence from third-party platforms (like screenshots of conversations outside of Fiverr) during the appeal process.

Appeals outcomes

  • If your appeal is successful, we will restore your content and remove any warnings from your account. If your account was suspended, we will reinstate it.
  • If you reported content and the decision changes after an appeal, we will notify both you and the account holder.
  • If your appeal is not successful, the original decision will be final and cannot be appealed again on Fiverr.

Reporting and privacy

Unless required by law, the individual being reported will not be informed of who submitted the report.

Reporting for EU residents

In accordance with EU laws, you have specific options when reporting serious violations such as child sexual abuse material (CSAM), human trafficking, or adult content.

  • Confidentiality: You can choose to keep your report confidential when reporting these specific categories.
  • Investigation: Our team thoroughly investigates every report. You will receive a personal response regarding the outcome of our review.
  • Appeals: If you disagree with a decision, you can appeal as described above.

How we define misuse of reporting tools

We take action against content and accounts that breach our policies. However, the integrity of our platform depends on honest reporting. Before submitting a report, you will see a disclaimer outlining appropriate use.

Misusing these tools - especially by falsely categorizing reports as CSAM, sexual exploitation, or terrorism or similar - undermines safety efforts. In these cases, the report will not be processed, and the reporter account may face permanent suspension.

Enforcement actions for misuse

If the reporting system is misused, we may take the following measures:

Account warning Users who frequently submit reports that violate this policy may receive a warning. We reserve the right to review and process reports at our discretion.

Account suspension Severe or repeated misuse may result in account suspension. We make these decisions on a case-by-case basis.

Examples of severe violations

The following actions are considered serious breaches of our reporting policy:

  • Falsely categorizing reports as terrorism, sexual exploitation, or CSAM
  • Submitting repeated false reports after receiving warnings
  • Intentionally targeting specific users with false reports
  • Mass reporting content without valid reasons to manipulate enforcement or by making false allegations
  • Submitting reports with fabricated or misleading proof
  • Exploiting the reporting system for competitive advantage (e.g., reporting a competitor's Gig to harm their business)
  • Using multiple accounts or automation to evade these policies

By following these guidelines, you help us ensure Fiverr remains a professional and secure marketplace.
