Creating your Fiverr account

Your Fiverr account is your starting point for everything you do on Fiverr, whether you want to order services or offer your own. Every account begins as a client account, and you can activate a freelancer account whenever you are ready to offer services. This article explains the account types and walks you through creating a client account and activating a freelancer account.

Before you begin

All users must be at least 18 years of age and of legal age to form a binding contract. Users under 18 and at least 13 years of age may use Fiverr only through an account owned by their parent or legal guardian, with permission. Users under the age of 13 are not permitted to use Fiverr.

1. Activating a freelancer account is only available on desktop.
2. Creating a Gig is only available on desktop.

Types of accounts

All Fiverr accounts are client accounts by default. A client account becomes a freelancer account only when you choose to offer services on Fiverr. The table below shows what each account type lets you do.

Creating a client account

Follow these steps to create your client account.

1. Go to Fiverr's homepage and click Join at the top of the page.
2. Click Continue with Email, then enter your email address and password.
   • You can also join with Facebook, Google Connect, or Apple Connect.
3. Choose a username to start your profile.
4. Activate your account.
   • Open your email inbox and copy the verification code.
   • Enter the code in the Fiverr window to complete activation.
   • After activating your account, you can contact freelancers or place your first order.
5. Personalize your experience by answering a few quick questions.
6. Your account is now created. You can now create your freelancer account.

Activating your freelancer account

Before you activate your freelancer account, make sure the email address on your Fiverr account is correct and is the one you want to use as a freelancer. If it is not correct, or if you want to use a different email to offer services, you can change your email or contact Support for help.

1. Log in to your Fiverr account, click your profile picture, then select Become a Seller from the dropdown menu.
2. On the next page, click Become a Seller again to start onboarding. This includes watching three videos on how to use Fiverr as a freelancer.
3. After the videos, review Fiverr's tips on what makes a successful profile and what to avoid as a freelancer, then click Continue.
4. Complete the mandatory fields, marked with an asterisk. Use only truthful and accurate information about your training, work experience, and skills.
5. Verify your account using your phone. Learn more with Verifying your account using your phone.
6. Create your first Gig to offer your services as a freelancer. Learn more with Creating a Gig.

Note: The more accurate and detailed the information you add, the stronger your freelancer profile will be.
