Request to order for clients

Clients can now communicate with freelancers, and freelancers can approve and manage Gig orders more efficiently, through the Request to Order option.

What is the Request to order option for clients?

This new feature provides you with the opportunity to discuss your project’s specific requirements and start date, in advance.

You can look forward to:

  • This is a great way to make sure you’ve selected the proper Gig package, get confirmation from the seller that they’re aware of your order, and confirm project details and timelines.
  • Decreasing cancellations, and increasing your user experience.
An open and active line of communication from the start will help decrease the need to cancel orders and is aimed at increasing your overall user experience and satisfaction.

Client experience

For Gigs that have the Request to order feature activated, you will see a Request to order button when you’re on the seller’s Gig page, instead of the continue button.

As soon as you submit your request, it will be sent to the seller’s inbox. They can then message you back or send a custom offer. You also have the option to request a custom offer.

Note: Repeat buyers may also place orders without needing to request to order.

How it works for clients

  1. When the feature is activated, buyers will see a Request to order button on your Gig’s page, instead of the Continue button.
  2. After a request is received, the seller will get notified in their inbox.
  3. From there, you can send a message back or send a custom offer.

Note: Requests will affect your response rate metric, so it’s important to answer all requests.

FAQs

  • Custom offers for the Request to order feature works the same as any other custom offer. Once a seller approves of your order, you have the ability to purchase it whenever you’re ready to—or until it expires.
  • Even if the Request to order option isn’t available, you can always send the seller a message with questions or ask for a quote before you place your order.

If you would like to place an order without talking to a seller first, you can check back on the Gig at another time, or order from a different seller.
  • If you want to finalize details before placing your order, you can always message the seller directly and/or ask for a custom offer.
