There are many freelancers in the marketplace, and it's incredibly important to ensure you provide clients with quality service. One of the highest quality service priorities expected by clients is freelancer responsiveness. This article explores tips to improve your responsiveness.

Understand your response rate and response time

These are crucial to your success. Be sure to note the differences, and to apply them to your order process.

  • The number of inbox messages you reply to within 24 hours (%).
  • How quickly you respond to a new request in your inbox.

Regularly check and respond to your messages

It’s important to continually check your inbox and Order page messages (for communication within an order) during an order.

Consider the time zone

Reply to your messages as soon as possible. Don’t get frustrated if you don’t get an immediate response—Fiverr has clients from all over the world and across a few different time zones.
Working with clients in other time zones can affect your response time, not your response rate. Response rate gives freelancers a full 24 hours to respond to a message, so despite being in different time zones, you still have an opportunity to respond to messages within 24 hours and not see your rate drop.

Spam and solicitations

These types of communications don’t need your response. Report these messages to Customer Support using the Contact us tab at the bottom of the page.

Note: Spam must be reported within 24 hours. You have the option to "unmark as spam" if you would like to respond. If you do so, you must respond within 24 hours to avoid affecting your response rate.
