Setting up your client profile

Your client profile is how freelancers get to know you. Setting it up makes it easier to find the right professional for your projects, helps freelancers understand your communication preferences, and allows Fiverr to suggest services tailored to your needs.

How to set up your client profile

  • Access: Go to your profile picture and select Profile.
  • Privacy: Your job or business focus, company size, business industry, and the "About you" section are not shown publicly.

Your client profile is set up on the Fiverr website. It is not available on the iOS or Android apps.

  • Choose what you primarily plan to do on the platform:

    • Client: Select this if you plan to order services from freelancers. You will continue through the client profile setup.
    • Freelancer: Select this if you plan to offer your own services. You will be taken to the freelancer onboarding flow instead.
  • This information helps Fiverr suggest the most relevant services for you. It is not shown publicly. Select up to 3 options that best reflect your needs:

    • Primary job or business: For services that support your main source of income.
    • Secondary business: For services related to a side project or second business.
    • Non-business needs: For personal projects, hobbies, or other non-commercial activities.

You can also indicate the size of your company (optional): just me, 2–10, 11–50, 51–500, or above 500.

    • Profile picture: A clear, friendly photo makes you feel more approachable and builds trust with freelancers.
    • Display name: The name freelancers will see when you communicate with them. You can use your real name, a business name, or a nickname.
    • About you: A short description of yourself. Not displayed publicly. Up to 2,500 characters.
    • Business industry: Select the industry that best describes your work from the dropdown. Only one can be selected.
  • These preferences help freelancers know when and how to reach you.

Select the days and times you are available to communicate on Fiverr.

    • You must select both a start and end day, and both a start and end time.
    • Availability is set in 1-hour increments. Your time zone is inferred from your IP address automatically.

If you select fewer than 3 days or a window of less than 5 hours, Fiverr will suggest widening your availability so freelancers have a better chance of reaching you.

Languages: Add the languages you speak, your proficiency level (Basic, Conversational, Fluent, or Native/Bilingual), and your communication preference for each language:

    • Messages only
    • Video calls only
    • Messages and video calls

You can add as many languages as you like. If you add a language, you must fill in all three fields (language, proficiency, and preference) before saving.

How to activate your account

After creating your account, a confirmation email with a verification code is sent to your email address. Open the email, enter the code, and your account will be activated. Once active, you can contact freelancers, manage projects, and access all account features.

How to edit your profile

You can update your profile at any time from either of these locations:

  • Profile picture > Profile
  • Profile picture > Settings > Business information

Click the edit button in the section you want to update. Use the Public view button to see how your profile appears to others.

Phone verification

You may be prompted to verify your phone number before contacting another user. This helps Fiverr maintain a safe and trusted community. Learn more about phone verification.

About your account location

Your account location is set automatically based on the country you register from. It is displayed on your profile so freelancers can understand potential language and time zone differences. Fiverr also uses it for tax compliance.

If your location is incorrect, contact Customer Support to request a change. You will need to provide proof of residency.
