Blocking a user from messaging you

If you want to stop receiving messages from a specific user on Fiverr, you can block them directly from your inbox. Blocking prevents the user from contacting you and limits their ability to place new orders or send offers. Both freelancers and clients can block users, and you can unblock anyone at any time.


What blocking does

When you block a user on Fiverr, the following restrictions apply:

  • They cannot send you messages.
  • They cannot place new orders with you (if you are a freelancer).
  • They cannot send you offers (if you are a client).

You can unblock a user at any time by going to the same blocking feature and clicking Unblock.

You can only block users you have had a prior interaction with, such as a message exchange before or after an order.

How to block a user from your inbox

  •  
    1. In your inbox, hover over a message from the user you want to block.
    2. Click the action ellipsis (...).
    3. Click Report.
    4. Select a reason for the report.
    5. Select the option to block the user.

    1. Open your inbox.
    2. Long-tap on a message from the user you want to block.
    3. Tap Report Spam.
    4. The user is automatically blocked.

Reporting a message & marking spam

From the same action ellipsis (...) menu, you can also:

  • Report: flags the message for a policy violation. You will be asked to select a reason. You also have the option to block the user.
  • Mark as spam: moves the message to your Spam folder.

What to do when you have an active order

If you encounter an issue with another user while an order is ongoing, contact Fiverr Customer Support immediately for assistance. Once the order is completed, you can block the user from your inbox.
