About the service
This compliance service allows Fiverr Pro clients to upload, send, and track the status of necessary legal paperwork. By using DocuSign, a trusted third-party platform, clients can ensure that freelancers electronically sign required documents before work begins, ensuring business compliance.
Before you begin
- Eligibility: Only the admin of a Fiverr Pro account can upload documents for the team to use.
- File requirements: Each file must be no more than 5 MB.
- Freelancer requirements: Freelancers must be able to use DocuSign to electronically sign the documents.
- Communication: Make sure the freelancer knows a legal document will be sent and exactly what information they need to complete it.
Feature functionality & behavior
Legal Documents feature provides full visibility into your compliance workflow.
- Management: Admins can preview or remove any document from the Administration page.
- Organization: We recommend naming each document clearly to help team members identify which documents to send to specific freelancers.

Tracking: You can monitor the progress of your requests through the following statuses:
- Sent: The document has been delivered to the freelancer.
- Signed: The freelancer has successfully signed the document.
- Expired: The document was not signed within 30 days. In this case, the DocuSign URL expires, and you will be refunded.
Send documents to the freelancer
- For the Admin: Documents must be uploaded to the Legal documents section within the Administration tab before they can be sent.

First-time users: Go to the freelancer's profile or Inbox, click the "Ensure this freelancer is compliant with your business banner," then select "Legal documents."
- Returning users: Click Legal documents directly on the freelancer’s profile or in your Inbox.
- Select the document(s) to send.
- Complete payment (if your Fiverr Pro subscription plan is Advanced, this service is free of charge).
Resending documents
- Sent documents: These can be resent at any time.
- Expired documents: These can be resent, but this requires a new payment (Pro Advanced clients can resend without limitations). The re-sent version will replace the previous one.
- Signed documents: Once a document is signed, it cannot be changed or re-sent.
Payments
Payment requirements for Essential plan users are:
- Payment Methods: You can pay using available payment methods or your deposit balance.
- Fiverr Balance: If your balance is lower than the required amount, you will be charged for the difference.
This service cannot be paid for using Fiverr credits or promo codes.
FAQs
- Only the account admin can upload legal documents to the Legal Documents Center. Once uploaded, other account members can send them to freelancers.
- Upload documents in Administration → Legal documents. Files can be dragged and dropped or uploaded from your device, with a maximum size of 5MB per file.
- Payment depends on your Fiverr Pro subscription plan. If required, payment must be made using an available payment method or Fiverr balance from deposits. Fiverr credits and promo codes can’t be used.
- Re-upload a new version of the document in the Legal documents center and resend it to the freelancer. Make sure the freelancer clearly understands where and how the document needs to be completed before resending.
- Once the freelancer signs the document, you can view it by selecting Open in the Legal documents section.
