Hourly Payment Protection Policy

How to stay covered

Fiverr’s Hourly Payment Protection ensures you get paid for hourly contracts, even if a client’s payment fails. This safeguard supports freelancers who log their hours clearly, stay within contract limits, and meet all policy requirements.

Note: In a case of failed payment, you should allow seven days for the client to correct their payment method, and then contact customer support for a resolution.

Fiverr ensures you’re paid for your hourly work

When working with hourly orders, your logged time will be compensated in the event of a payment failure, as long as:

  • To qualify for payment protection, your logged hours must:

    • Include a clear and specific task description

    • Reflect only time you have actually worked

    • Include supporting files like screenshots or deliverables, when applicable

    • Be submitted before the weekly payment is due

Important: Vague entries (e.g., “work,” “test,” or empty fields) may disqualify your hours.

  • To be eligible for hourly payment protection, you must:

    • Have worked on an hourly order with a Fiverr Pro client*

    • Stay within your weekly hour limit

    • Use your account in compliance with Fiverr’s Terms of Service and Community Standards

Note: In order to work with you on an hourly basis, your clients must migrate their account to Fiverr Pro.

  • If your client fails to pay, follow these steps to activate your hourly payment protection:

    1. Stop all work on the order in question. The order will be automatically suspended and you will no longer be able to log additional hours

    2. Wait as Fiverr contacts the client to resolve the payment issue

    3. If payment is not settled within 7 days, you will be entitled to receive compensation. Reach out to Customer Support and provide relevant details

      • Reach out to Customer Support

      • Request compensation for your Hourly order and provide relevant details

Fiverr will review your logged hours. If all criteria are met, you’ll be compensated for that billing cycle.

What's not covered

Hourly Payment Protection does not apply to:

  • Tips, milestones, extras, subscriptions, or fixed-price projects
  • Hours that exceed your weekly contract limit or were logged after the payment failure
  • Task descriptions that are vague, empty, irrelevant or fake.
  • Logs that suggest you weren’t actively working
  • Any disputes that are not related to the payment (client reject the weekly report)
  • Any misuse of the policy or violation of Fiverr’s Terms

Your safeguard when working with hourly orders

Hourly Payment Protection is designed to support freelancers who work transparently and meet both platform standards and policy requirements. Fiverr reviews every request to ensure fairness, accuracy, and trust.
