Need a break? Fiverr's Availability feature lets you set a time frame when you cannot receive new orders or messages. By setting the Availability feature, both freelancers and clients experience a better experience by managing expectations and ensuring effective communication.
What does the Availability feature do?
When you set yourself as unavailable, your Gigs will remain visible, and you will automatically become available again when your scheduled break ends. To ensure transparency, your out-of-office status will be clearly indicated when clients view your Profile page, your Gig page, or your conversations in the Inbox.

- Clients can view your profile, Gigs, and return date.

- Clients will not be able to place a new order when you are marked as out of the office.
- Clients cannot accept custom offers if your availability status is set to "pause".
- Your client will receive a pop-up letting them know that you are unavailable, and there is no option to accept the custom offer.

- Clients will only be able to contact you if you have specified that you want to receive messages while out of the office, unless they have an active order.
- Clients with an active order can message you and you are expected to deliver their orders as agreed upon.
How to set your Availability?
- After logging in, click your profile image and select Dashboard from the menu.
- In your profile panel at the top of the screen, click on the “Available” status.
Important: Once you click the Available button, a pop-up will open where you can provide additional details.
Select a first day (this can be today’s date or a future date) and the last day.
Tip: It is optional but recommended to leave a message to existing and potential clients. You can either use the default message or customize it to your liking. This message will be displayed on your Profile page, Inbox, and Gig pages.- When you are unavailable, you can opt to receive messages from all clients to ensure that you don't miss any exciting collaborations. If you want to allow all clients to contact you while unavailable, switch on the All buyers can contact me toggle.
Important: If you choose to receive messages, your response rate calculation will remain the same as when you are not out of the office (24 hours). - Click Confirm dates.
FAQs
- You can change your availability settings, including your return time, at any time on your Dashboard page. This can be accessed in the profile panel section at the top of the dashboard.
- No, if you choose to set your Availability as unavailable, your response rate will be unaffected. However, if you switch on the All buyers can contact me toggle, which enables all clients to contact you, your response time and response rate will be counted as usual.
- Once you have set yourself to unavailable, a banner will be displayed notifying clients of your time away. According to your preferred setting, if the client has not ordered from you in the past, or does not have a current active order, they will not be able to message you.
- Yes, however, you are still required to deliver your orders on time. The client can still message you, and the response rate metric calculation will continue as usual.
- Yes, your Gig will be temporarily removed from the search. Once you become available again, your Gigs will reappear.
- Setting Availability will not necessarily have an impact on your Gig ranking. However, if the unavailability period runs over 30 days within a timeframe of 180 days, your Gig ranking might be affected.
