Subscriptions are a way to offer your services on an ongoing basis, helping you work with your favorite clients long-term and attract new ones. By providing a predictable service schedule, you can increase your repeat business score and potentially generate more income.
Before you begin
Subscriptions allow clients to book your services at set intervals for recurring periods, depending on how they are offered: Within a Gig or in a Custom Offer.
- Freelancers in certain categories who meet specific Fiverr eligibility criteria can offer Subscriptions for a monthly period of 3 or 6 months.
- Your Gig must be priced at $10 or more, except for Voiceover Gigs, which can offer subscriptions starting at $5.
- The maximum delivery time for subscription Gigs is 30 days.
How subscriptions work
Each subscription order is treated as a standalone order. This means the next order in the cycle will start automatically, even if the previous one is still in progress.
- You are paid after every successful delivery for each subscription order.
- Like regular orders, subscriptions will auto-complete if the client does not accept within 3 days of delivery.
Clients can cancel upcoming orders. You must cancel a subscription at least 10 days before the renewal date so that your metrics are not affected.
Your metrics are only affected if you cancel after an order that has already started.
- Clients can provide new requirements for every individual order via the order page.
- If a client needs extra services outside the subscription scope, they must message you directly.
- The subscription starts when the client pays and places an order. Currently, you cannot change the start date of a subscription once it is established.
Milestone and subscription orders can’t be combined and offered simultaneously.
Adding subscriptions to a Gig
You can add or remove the subscription option from your Gigs at any time.
- Go to your Gigs page.
- Click Add Subscription next to the Gig in question.
- Tip: First, add subscriptions to your existing Gigs instead of new Gigs, as they have more exposure.
- Choose the subscription period (3 or 6 months).
- Optional: Select a discount of 5%, 10%, 15%, or 20% to offer your clients.
- Click Save.
Note: Discounts start from the second order and apply to all related Gig packages.
Subscriptions in Custom Offers
Freelancers can also send subscriptions through Custom Offers for a more personalized approach.
- You can create subscription Custom Offers from a desktop or mobile web browser.
- Unlike standard Gig subscriptions, Custom Offers allow for any interval, including daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly.
- The automated discount feature is not available for Custom Offers. If you want to offer a lower price, you must manually adjust the base price in the offer.
