Writing a message to buyers
In order for a seller to send a follow-up message to a buyer, the following conditions must be met:
- The buyer must have placed an order with the seller in the past 60 days.
- The seller did not send the buyer a follow-up message using this tool since the buyer's last order.
- The buyer may not have any active coupons from the seller.
- The buyer did not unsubscribe from receiving follow-up messages.
You will be able to choose from two kinds of follow-up messages:
- Re-order message: This message is sent to buyers who are likely to order the same service again soon.
- Offer other Gigs message: This message is sent to buyers who are not likely to order the same service again soon, but who may be interested in other services you offer.
How it works
All of the follow-up messages that you send, regardless of the type of message, will be displayed in your inbox. This will make it easier for you to keep track of your follow-up messages and see who you have sent messages to and when.
Here is what you will need to do:
- In the navigation section, you will need to select Marketing tools under the Growth & Marketing tab.
- Under Follow-up messages, you’ll need to click Send a message.
- You will then need to Select buyers. In this step, you need to choose from a list of buyers who will receive your follow-up message.
- Next, you will need to Add your message. You can select the type of message you will be sending: Re-order message or Offer other Gigs.
- To use the "Reorder" feature: You must offer all last ordered gigs by the selected buyers.

To use the "Offer other gigs" feature: You must have more than one active gig.
- Once you have selected your follow-up message type and have added your message, you will need to Review and send. The buyer will then receive the new message via their inbox.
- A Follow-up details window will appear. Here is where you will see a default message with certain information such as: Date sent, message type, recipients, orders, Your message.
Note: You can change this message to make it more personal or to fit your specific needs.
- After you send the message, the buyer will get a notification in their inbox, where they can decide whether to move forward with the order.

How many messages can I send?
If you are subscribed to the Standard tier, you will be allowed to send 10 messages per month.If you are subscribed to the Premium tier, you will be allowed to send 20 messages per month.

Can a follow-up message be considered spam?
Unlike regular bulk messages, follow-up messages are approved by Fiverr and are not considered spam. Buyers can opt out of receiving follow-up messages, but this is not considered as spam by Fiverr. To avoid buyers unsubscribing, sellers should only send follow-up messages to buyers who have had a good experience with them and are likely to be interested in receiving the message.
