Why we collect and use your ID information
We collect and process ID cards to help build a trustworthy marketplace and enforce our Terms of Service. This process allows us to:
- Improve trust in the marketplace and service quality
- Secure our platform and prevent fraud, for example, freelancers misrepresenting themselves
- Recover hijacked accounts and confirm ownership of freelancer accounts
- Enforce Fiverr's Terms of Service
- Confirm that users are at least 18 years old
- Confirm that users comply with applicable laws
The importance of ID verification
ID verification helps us maintain high security standards for you and the rest of the Fiverr community.
We do not use your identification card for any other purpose, including marketing, and we do not share it with other users. We keep the copy of your identification card only for as long as required for these safety purposes.

How long we keep your data
We keep the copy of your identification document and your selfie for 30 days. After this period, we retain only your name, date of birth, gender, hashed ID number, document type, and document country.
The copy of your identification document and the personal information you provided when performing the ID verification process are kept in order to verify your account or the identity you reported to us, and create a safe and secure marketplace for our community.
